What changed for 2027 (and what didn't)
For the 2027 model year, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport largely carries over its design and core mechanicals, but introduces some notable adjustments. The most significant change is the reintroduction of a Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) option for the base S trim, which contributes to a lower starting MSRP compared to the previous year. Additionally, some entry and mid-level trims, such as the 2.0 ES AWC CVT and 2.0 LE AWC CVT, also see a reduction in their starting MSRPs. The top-of-the-line SEL trim now exclusively features a more powerful 2.4-liter MIVEC DOHC engine, delivering 168 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque, a 20 horsepower increase over the standard 2.0-liter engine. Standard safety features like Forward Collision Mitigation with Pedestrian Detection and Lane Departure Warning remain consistent across the lineup. Interior dimensions and cargo capacity also remain unchanged, offering 21.7 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 49.5 cubic feet with them folded.
